All that Broadway razzmatazz comes to Newbury

With the Broadway enhancement scheme nearing completion, there’s no business like show business, as shops in the area celebrate Broadway-style this Saturday. Organised by Newbury Events Manager Caroline Paus, Performing Arts students from Newbury College will be entertaining the crowds with musical hits, while dancers and musicians take to the streets with hits such as Chicago. Shops in the Broadway will be treating shoppers to mince pies, mulled wine and goody bags full of seasonal treats.Caroline Paus said “The Broadway is full of history , with some great independent shops; Now that it has a wonderful new area perfect for staging events, this will be the first of many to put them on the map.“
Saturday’s event gets underway at noon when the Mayor of Newbury, Kuldip Singh Kang opens the proceedings. Stuart McGinley from Newbury Sound will compere and the event will run until 2pm.
