FRENCH MARKET – NEWBURY MARKET PLACE
FRIDAY 9th & SATURDAY 10th OCTOBER 2009
A French Market will be trading in the Market Place, Newbury on Friday 9th & Saturday 10th October 2009. This will be in addition to our famous Charter Market as usual on Saturday. The Mayor of Newbury, Kuldip Singh Kang, will be officially opening the market on Friday 9th October at 10:00am.
There will also be a prize draw competition to win a French hamper.
Come and say “Bonjour” to the French Market, which will be selling a variety of goods including:
- Bread and Patisserie
- Pancakes
- Cheese from France
- Provencal soaps
- Leather handbags
- Jewellery
- Saucisson & Pate from Normandy
- Confectionery from Montelimar
- Wooden toys and basketwork
The market operator is Muriel Charles and both she and all of her traders cordially invite you to join them and enjoy some traditional French shopping.
Trading hours will be from 9am – 5pm.
Councillor Martha Vickers, Chair of the Market Working Party, said, “Our Continental markets are becoming a regular and very welcome feature in the town.”
