This is Newbury Town Council's free Gallery in the heart of the Town. All visitors are welcome to come in to view the Artwork and our historic building in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Some of the work will be priced should anyone wish to buy but we are not a commercial enterprise and we are pleased for people to come in to enjoy the work and to meet the artist of the week. This week we have John Cooke who specialises in watercolour and pen and ink drawings. Read more

Each week we display art, craft or photography in the Town Hall between 10.00 a.m. and 3 p.m. All visitors are welcome free of charge. Artwork is priced but there is no pressure to buy, we are happy if people come in just to view and meet the artists. This week we have a large display from Pearl Hailstone of Greenham. Read more


Battle Proms picnic at Highclere Castle

A celebration of classical music with fireworks, spitfire, cannons and cavalry. The concert takes place in front of the Castle which is illuminated by dramatic lighting and forms the backdrop to this stunning event. Bring a picnic and enjoy an unforgettable evening of sublime music and breathtaking displays overlooking the beautiful setting of Highclere Castle. Gates open at 4.30pm to give you time to enjoy your picnic, win a prize at the traditional fairground stalls and get in the spirit with jazz on the stage. 6.45pm is the start of the Napoleonic Cavalry and Infantry displays 7.25pm is the evening gun salute 7.30-10.00pm is the the Musical Programme including Spitfire air display, classical favourites, excerpts from the operas, 200 live cannons, traditional Proms favourites and spectacular fireworks. The Battle Proms Concert is a highlight of the summer calendar - stunning music, glorious setting and breathtaking displays. Read more
